Privacy.
This is a personal portfolio site. I use lightweight analytics and an AI chat feature to understand what is useful, keep the site working, and help hiring teams ask better questions.
Ask Shannon chat
When you send a message to Ask Shannon, the message is sent to my private chat API and then to Anthropic so the assistant can respond. The chat is for questions about my work, projects, approach, and availability. Please do not include confidential, sensitive, or client information.
I may review chat messages and responses to improve the portfolio and spot abuse. Chat logs are kept for up to 30 days by default. The chat service stores the conversation text, technical browser information, and a pseudonymous visitor ID. Third-party IP geolocation is off by default.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand page visits, clicks, scroll behaviour, and whether pages are working as expected. I do not intentionally send chat message text to these tools. The chat area is also marked for Microsoft Clarity masking.
Contact
If you email me, I use your email and any information you include to reply. I do not sell personal information.
Your choices
- You can use the direct email link instead of the AI chat.
- You can avoid including personal or confidential information in chat messages.
- You can ask me to delete a chat or email conversation by contacting shannonheckerchen@gmail.com.
