Project Summary
Algo trading desk operators were monitoring live strategies across multiple disconnected screens with no unified status view. When an algorithm deviated from expected behaviour, diagnosing and intervening was slow, in markets where milliseconds matter.
My Role
As UI Designer, I translated complex algorithmic trading workflows into precise, scannable interfaces. Working alongside product and engineering, I owned the interaction design, detailed Figma specifications, and visual QA through to release, with accessibility and cross-product consistency woven into every decision.
Design Process
I designed a real-time monitoring cockpit: a single-screen command centre giving operators instant visibility into all running strategies, with anomaly highlighting and one-click intervention controls.
The design used a traffic-light status system with ambient colour-coding so operators could assess overall portfolio health at a glance, then drill into specific strategies needing attention. All interactions were optimised for speed, with critical actions requiring a maximum of 2 clicks.
